Join us for a night of frights and delights at the 9th annual Spookyville—FREE and OPEN TO ALL!

Head to the alley behind 715-719 Van Buren Street, NW on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 6:00 PM for a hauntingly good time.

This all-neighbor-run celebration grows bigger (and spookier!) every year—featuring a haunted alley, fortune telling, fish fry, crafts, DJ, s’mores, a terrifying tunnel, live performances, and more.

    The 9th Annual Spookyville: Haunted Alley kicks off on Friday, October 24 (the Friday before Halloween) at 6:00 PM in the alley behind 715-719 Van Buren Street, NW.   • 🦇 Does it cost money to attend Spookyville: Haunted Alley?
    Spookyville: Haunted Alley is free and open to all! Some activities like treats from the No Tricks, Just Treats! baking contest, tipping at the Zombie Saloon, and tickets for the Cauldron of Prizes raffle, have a small cost. All proceeds go straight back into making Spookyville: Haunted Alley even spookier!
  • 👻 What's the rundown of frights and delights?
    Spookyville is packed with eerie excitement—think food, music, crafts, scary stories, trick-or-treating, and surprises around every corner. We conjure up a cast of local businesses, bands, and neighborhood talent each year. The full lineup changes annually, so stay tuned! A Ghoulish Guide with the night’s events will be shared closer to and available during the big night.
  • 🧛 Is Spookyville: Haunted Alley scary or kid-friendly?
    Spookyville: Haunted Alley is an all ages event! We keep the spooks friendly early in the evening and save the scarier surprises for later. Grown-up ghouls: use your best judgment to decide what level of fright is right for those in your care.
  • 🧹 What's the best way to travel to Spookyville: Haunted Alley?
    We strongly encourage walking, biking, or riding in on your broomstick if you can (and leaving your car at home). Spookyville will be crawling with little ghouls and goblins! The event is within easy walking distance of the Takoma Metro and several bus lines.
  • 🕷️ Will there be food for monsters, ghouls, and goblins?
    Yes! To keep Spookyville inclusive, we proudly offer free meals, drinks, snacks, and candy—while supplies last. Thanks to community donations, we’re able to provide around 150 free meals to fuel the frightful fun.
  • ♻️ Where do creatures throw out their trash?
    Even in the Haunted Alley, we keep things clean! You'll find plenty of spots to toss your trash, sort your recycling, and drop off compost. Help us keep Spookyville: Haunted Alley spooky, not messy.
  • 🪦 Are there restrooms in the realm of Spookyville: Haunted Alley?
    There are no public restrooms in Spookyville, so please take care of business before you arrive. Some generous ghouls may open their home restrooms at their own discretion.
  • 🌧️ What if there’s a frightful forecast?
    Spookyville: Haunted Alley is a rain-or-shine celebration—so grab your cloak or conjure an umbrella and join us, no matter the weather!

    Scheduled activities wrap up by 10:00 PM, but many neighbors stick around to enjoy the afterglow of the evening. While the spooky spirit lingers, we’re committed to being respectful of the neighborhood—keeping things quiet, tidy, and low-key as the night winds down.
