10TH ANNUAL
SPOOKYVILLE: HAUNTED ALLEY

Get ready for a night of frights and delights at our tenth annual spooky neighborhood event.

Join us on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the alley behind 715-719 Van Buren Street, NW—in the heart of the Takoma neighborhood of Douglass Commonwealth (DC)—for a FREE hauntingly good time for all ages.

Come for the fun. Stay for the scares.

A mystical fortune telling globe with a crescent moon within and manicured hands around it.

Fortune Telling

Peer into the future with our neighborhood mystic, Madame J! Step inside her candlelit corner of the Haunted Alley for a glimpse beyond the veil, with tarot, fortunes, visions, and otherworldly wisdom.

A jack-o-lantern full of candy.

Trick-or-Treat Trail

Grab a map and follow the Trick-or-Treat Trail, visiting our pumpkin-hatted treat givers to collect pumpkin stickers and score sweet treats. Visit every stop to claim a magical prize from the Mayor of Spookyville!

A witch silhouette stirs a cauldron with red flames below. Her eyes are neon yellow.

S'mores +
Scary Stories

Gather ’round the (camp)fire with Girl Scout Troop 42219 for s’mores as the flames flicker and shadows grow. Nearby, little ghosts and goblins can cozy up with not-so-scary stories and boo(k) giveaways from People's Book.

A potion full of magical liquid and a skull.

Mystical

Crafts

Join local favorite Merry Pin to stir up spooky potions and craft your own magic wand, then make a little more magic with a special neighbor-led craft. A little hocus pocus, perfect for witches & wizards of all ages.

HAUNTED ALLEY ATTRACTIONS (IF YOU DARE!)

A skeleton head wears headphones. They're rocking out.

Ghoul-Local Talent

Get ready to raise your spirits! DJ Zach Pleasant spins ghoulish grooves, and Luke Ijams Trio  takes center stage as this year’s headliner, keeping ghosts, goblins, and the whole graveyard dancing.

A chattering skull.
A grill lid opens and bats fly out.

Freaky Fish Fry

Feed your fright throughout the night! Beloved local haunt Takoma Station Tavern serves up crispy bites with a side of spooky flavor, plus  chillingly refreshing drinks. Free while supplies last.

A hand rises - from the grave, presumably.

Terrifying Tunnel

Dare to enter Spookyville’s scare zone. The alley is haunted after all, and this shadowy stretch brings chills, screams, and ghostly surprises, conjured by Ward 4 volunteers from Free DC.

A cauldron with a moon and stars.

Cauldron of Prizes

Rayceen Pendarvis, the Oracle of Spookyville (aka the High Priestess of Love & Goddess of DC) will hold court from the throne, awarding prizes to spooktacular costumes by mystical decree.

A chattering skull.

Plus a Ghoul-y Game Station with Rowhaven Games, Twighlight Temporary Tattoos, Ghostly Chalkscape, Engine Co. No. 22's Frightful Fire Truck, AND SO MUCH MORE! Check the Frightfully Asked Questions for all the spooky details. RSVPs aren’t required, but sign up to get an advance copy of the Ghoulish Guide to the night’s activities a few days before the event.
